I've been all over, but many of these states, I've only visited briefly. I don't think I've included any that I've only seen from the inside of an airport though. It'd be cool if there were a scale of familiarity though. From, "I could give you good directions for multiple cities to go to locations to which I've never actually been" to "Yeah, uh, I know there's a Walmart in the state someplace, but I just ran across the border so I could include it on this map."

Katie Bug has very funny kitties, and actually manages to catch them in the act. Maggie actually caries one around like a kid, though in her mouth, not in a little hand.

Ok, I don't usually share dreams, cuz they're usually not very interesting to other people, but this one brings up a strange question and the dream can be summed up fairly well so it's not overly boring...

Dream starts, I'm outside on some college campus trying to find my French class for the final exam. I go and go down empty hallways looking for the class to no avail. (wouldn't you think I'd know where the classroom was for the final, since it was the same one as the class was in?) I gave up to go ask someone, but as I went down the escalator I ended up in some sort of indoor flea market and recognized the hallway at the other end of it. As I go towards it I recognize this one table (a pool table) that had items I knew I'd passed before. So I get to the classroom, which was different on the interior after all. The test was strange, 3 lines of 2"x2" squares with letters on them, (3 words to put into a french sentence on each side) fit into a rectangular box, maybe a foot and a half long and 7 inches wide and tall. Somehow I got distracted and didn't get all the questions to the test before it had been picked up and the letters spilled all over.

So, the weirdness... I remember going to this class in another dream, maybe two. I remember actually struggling to find the class the first time and seeing THAT flea market table with those exact objects on it. I remember an actual class discussion... (It wasn't french class though. Can't expect dreams to make perfect sense can you?!) But can I trust a dream remmeberance to be true? I know I've had various details recur for sure, but whole dream overlaps with identical scenes overlapping? Kinda weird. The interior at the flea market reminds me of Las Vegas Casino interior, so it probably would have been in the last two weeks that I'd dreamed of the class. I always have troubles finding classes in my dreams! I usually find them after a search though..

Seems flickr found some Uuuuugggly issues during routine maintenance, aiee! Down for 30, no 360 minutes! Glad the the problems were found before the whole flickr-world came totally crashing down, though. Thanks for keeping all of us in the loop! Hope that asprin does the trick, but I hear it takes something more potent like, uh, say, advil or red licorice, to slap the Database blues down. Care to provide any more details? Geeks want to know!

And I still don't get my work done with one fewer distractions!

So, more story behind this. I was on the plane from Denver to Charlotte to get to Florida. My new A-95 enabled me to do what I'd been thirsting to do for quite a while. I took bunches of pictures out the plane window, but this is the one I liked best. Partway through the flight I noted that the light was glinting off all sorts of water. I saw the river coming up the pike and made sure I got the shot.. It took some contrast and sharpening fiddling, but this came out.

Man I hate those days where you wake up with one of those dreams where the "to do list" piled up so high that even my dream persona couldn't keep it all straight, and I ran in circles confused about what needed to be done right then. I'm usually good at seeing what needs to be done and doing the things that need doing, yet somehow such feelings of not being able to keep things together in these occassional scatterbrain dreams spill over into the day, a muddy, cloudy day, even though the sun is shining brightly and it's a dry spring day in the rockies... Am I alone in having those dreams that leak in to reality like that!?

If I was a work of art, I would be Claude Monet's Waterlilies.

I am soft and gentle, but very colourful. Although based in reality, I look at the world through a filter of impressions which shape how I see things. Splashes of light help to define my presence and bring an endearing quality.
